Seven things to know about Julia:
The new rules require us to have a buyer sign a contract for us to represent them before the first showing. Sometimes people are afraid to commit to someone they don't know. You don’t need to guess what you’re getting when you hire me to represent you, I will just tell you. I recently heard a talk by the investor Ray Dalio that resonated with me; he recommended writing down your rules for investing. Here are my rules when representing my clients making investments.
1. Compassion; you never know what people are going through so I strive to give everyone the benefit of the doubt.
2. Altruism; putting others’ needs before your own is not a sacrifice, it raises the vibrations for all of us.
3. Equity; Dalio calls sharing his investment rules ‘teaching others to fish’; I do a lot of realtor education and maybe I could get ahead if I hoard what I know but I want to share with my clients and my peers. After all, 21 years ago I learned how to practice real estate from three guys named Chuck who nicknamed me Diva. Rizz.
4. Stewardship of the financial and time resources given to me for representing a client is my responsibility, as are the resources of land, materials, labor and talent that go into a creating property, and the resources of the earth we are trying to protect from global warming.
5. Curiosity is the key to an interesting life; what do my clients really want? what does this property really offer? the average sold price is what? what are the shoreland zoning rules around this? why did buyers ever think time shares were a great financial idea? SO many rabbit holes I have occupied. A sense of humor helps, too!
6. Accountability means a lot to me, whether I am a heroine or in the doghouse.
7. Integrity; everyone may not always agree with my stance, but I won’t misrepresent it and I want to hear what others think, even if we agree to disagree.
